Anu Ontronen

Mezzo-soprano Anu Ontronen works as an opera singer at the Finnish National Opera, where her roles in recent years have included Flora in Verdi’s “La Traviata,” Marcellina in Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” and Larina in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin.” Ontronen graduated from the opera class at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the summer of 2016 and worked as a soloist apprentice at the Finnish National Opera during the 2016/2017 season. She achieved a shared second place in the Lappeenranta Singing Competition in 2016 and won the shared 1st place in the Kangasniemi Singing Competition in 2014. Ontronen is a recipient of the Matti Salminen Foundation’s scholarship in 2011 and the Finnish Wagner Society’s scholarship in 2017. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras. 

Anu Ontronen will be performing in the concert “Petite messe solennelle” at Juva Church on July 21st at 19:00.
