Joroinen Music Festival opens with this beautiful and emotional Oratorio. The piece is filled with beautiful choir and solo sections, as well as orchestral music that will surely evoke strong emotions in the audience. The concert is performed in English.

The Messiah oratorio is one of the most well-known works of the composer, Georg Friedrich Händel. The piece has been performed around the world for over 280 years, with its first performance in London in 1743. The Hallelujah chorus is one of the most famous melodies in the history of classical music.

The concert features the South Savo Provincial Choir, soloists Mari Karjalainen, Anu Ontronen, Jere Hölttä, and Heikki Kilpeläinen, along with an instrumental ensemble: a string quintet, trumpets, harpsichord, and organ. (Members of the ensemble will be announced later.) The conductor for the concert is Matti Makkonen. The concert will be held in the magnificent stone church of Juva, where a seating chart is available. Seats can be chosen in the Lippu.fi online store from the desired section, and specific seats can be selected freely before the concert.

The concert is organized in collaboration with the South Savo Music Theatre and Opera Association ESMO ry.
