Starving for romance
The concert offers traditional Finnish delicacies for those hungry for love, served to the audience by baritone Joonas Orrain and accordion artist Viivi Maria Saarenkylä. In addition to Finnish vocal music, the artists will provide a taste of their own blends of English and German songs. With artistic freedom and a new twist added to the mix, the concert promises something unprecedented and interesting.
A romantic wine bar will be available well before the concert and during the intermission, where small snacks can also be purchased. After the concert, visitors have the opportunity to make purchases at the Putkisalo Manor sheep farm store.
You can combine a lunch cruise with this concert. The ticket booth offers a concert + cruise package ticket, which includes a cruise from Savonlinna to the concert venue, a concert ticket, and return transportation to Savonlinna by bus. M/S Katrilli departs from Savonlinna harbor at 11 am. The cruise will offer a program that will be announced later. You can order lunch for the cruise from the ship’s captain, Piia Kinnunen, by phone at +358 44 517 3040. The price of the lunch is 16 €, which includes a starter salad, a hot meal, and dessert coffee with a small sweet.
The ship will arrive at the Putkisalo Manor pier at 1:30 pm. It’s about one kilometer from the pier to the manor, and you can walk the distance, admiring the picturesque countryside. Alternatively, you can ride on a tractor wagon, in which case the walking distance is about 300 meters. Transportation for the entire trip can be arranged if needed. The return trip to Savonlinna will depart at approximately 5 pm, and the bus ride takes about half an hour.
