Journey Side by Side
“The most lyrical musician of all time” is a phrase that all listeners familiar with Franz Schubert’s music can identify with. These were the words that Franz Liszt, a composer and piano virtuoso who made his mark on the history of music, used to describe the genius of his echo.
Although Schubert is widely known as a composer of songs and the father of the Lied performance form, there is at least as much poetry in his wordless music as in his songs. Inspired by this, Gabriel Kivivuori Sereno, who has been successful in both song and composition competitions, set out to weave together an ensemble in which he would compose songs to accompany the piano runs, linking the opus D.899 4 Impromptu into a coherent story.
In this rare concert, Kivivuori Sereno takes on the triple role of composer, singer and pianist. As in Schubert’s song suites, we hear a journey through love and longing, guided by one thing: music.
The concert will take place in the historic 17th-century Frugård Manor in Joroinen. Doors open at 6 p.m. Please note that there are stairs before the entrance. We will assist you if necessary.
